The Pirates! Ham Nite
Obviously, there’s some horror craze going on right now with zombies, vampires, witches, and wizards. Pirates certainly worked for Pirates of the Caribbean so why not in claymation? The movie had a humorous twist to pirates so I really enjoyed watching what the creators of Wallace and Gromit made.
Is anyone else wondering why that guy is the only guy with red eyes?
Anyways, watching some kid movies as an older person, I realize how fast-paced they make them and I noticed that while watching this movie. But it had some jokes kids probably wouldn’t catch so it’s a good one for all ages.
Dish: Ham and Beer
For those of you who have bought a whole thing of ham before, you’re probably wondering how I found one with the bone still sticking out in the back. Well, I didn’t. Let’s just avoid where and how I got a bone in there. The beer on the other hand, is actually butter beer from Harry Potter. It was easier than buying draft beer and turned out to have its own after effects.
What after effects? These Wallace and Grommit posts are my favorites so far!
How do you make better beer? Anything I can do to get beer without having to spend a ton of money at the store, I’m all for it.
Exactly. It was way cheaper making butter beer and get the same bubbly effect than it was to buy a whole thing of draft beer. After buying everything else for this, I didn’t have much choice.
I have heard of people making some awesome beer of their own at their house before so it’s possible ^^
This was completely interesting. I never saw any thing about the claymation thingy. I really would like to see more of that. And yes, why is the guy’s eyes the only ones that are red. They do things like that so people can ask questions I guess. That is too funny. Like it alot.
Awesome blog and awesome post. Looked like you had a fun night. I love me some animated movies and really didn’t have an interest in watching this, but after reading your post I think I will check it out. Looking forward to reading more from you!
Please share that butter beer recipe! And yeah I’d like to know what those after affects were.
And Your ham nite picture is awesome:-)
Here’s the one I followed and it doesn’t have to be vegan ^^ The after effects is simply because it’s super sweet and if I finished mine, I’m sure I would’ve been sugar high but you could totally add some alcohol in this no problem :3
Ingredients
1 cup (8 oz) club soda or vegan cream soda
½ cup (4 oz) butterscotch syrup (ice cream topping)
½ tablespoon vegan butter or Earth Balance
Preparation
1. Place butterscotch and vegan butter into a 16 oz glass. Microwave on high for 1 to 1½ minutes, or until syrup is bubbly and vegan butter is completely mixed in.
2. Stir for 30 seconds and allow to cool. Slowly mix in club soda. Be careful. The mixture will fizz quite a bit.
3. Serve in two mugs or glasses. Think of magical Hogwart’s and enjoy!
I love that you had your own version of “Ham nite.” I do this a lot too. I love food, and if I see something on TV or in a movie that looks really good, I will try to look up the recipe or I will make my own version of the recipe. For example, if you have seen “Julie and Julia,” there is a scene where Julie is making bruschetta, and it made me hungry! So I basically made bruschetta (which is tomatoes, olive oil, basil, garlic, and pepperoncini peppers) and I topped the whole mixture on sliced french bread fried in olive oil. OMG, it is so good. Also, I would like to try that recipe for butter beer. That looks really good.
Yea, I loved that movie and am really tempted to make the chocolate cake haha I’m planning on making a separate post for butter beer with a recipe and altering it from this one cuz I’m not completely satisfied with the look ^^ but yea try it out it’s still good!
I have never heard of “ham nite” before but it sounds really cool. I have also never tried butter beer so you should definitely post your recipe as well!
